HOUSTON, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday reported a decrease of 4.728 million barrels of crude oil in the U.S. crude oil inventories for the week ending July 23.
API reported an increase of 0.806 million barrels of crude oil inventories for the previous week ending July 16 while the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a rise of 2.1 million barrels.
Oil prices declined on Tuesday, amid renewed concerns over fuel demand.
The West Texas Intermediate for September delivery lost 26 cents to settle at 71.65 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery decreased 2 cents to close at 74.48 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
